Jerome Park Resevoir Revival


For those who were not inform the Jerome Park Resevoir has been refilled and is back in service.  Today I was driving by the reservoir and was amazed how the water filled reservoir changed the appearance of Jerome Park.  The view is so impressive, I felt compelled to photograph the “scenic view” and possibly immortalize its beauty here in cyber space.

Heres a fun fact about the Jerome Park Reservoir.  It was originally called Jerome Park Racetrack.  Built in 1866 by Leonard Jerome and financed by August Belmont Sr, the site hosted the first Belmont Stakes in 1867 and continued to do so until 1890.

Housing Recovery Unmoved by Rising Interest Rates

Mortgage rates may be
rising, but the housing market doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, several
indicators have improved alongside rising rates, according to the HousingPulse
Tracking Survey released this week. The lending atmosphere is becoming
friendlier, especially to first-time buyers. Simultaneously, the average time
on market for non-distressed properties and the average sales-to-list price
ratio both improved year-over-year in December. Full Story
